Journalists globally face growing threats and they are also increasing in Europe.

The European Centre for Press and Media Freedom’s conference Defending Journalists under Threat takes place on 5th October 2017 at Leipzig School of Media in Germany.

Journalists who are under threat from a range of different pressures will give their testimony and present case studies. Organisations that offer refuge and solidarity will discuss the practical implications of how best to help them. And political and legal experts discuss the policy and regulatory changes that will safeguard journalists and their sources under threat, with a special focus on protection for whistleblowers.

Speakers and participants from all over Europe and a variety of backgrounds will contribute to the discussions.

More details follow soon. We look forward seeing you in Leipzig in October!
